At LHD, we believe the most beautiful homes are warm, relaxed, and effortlessly inviting. Rooted in history, our approach blends old, new, and handmade pieces to design spaces that are truly personal. We take inspiration from nature to create homes that not only feel good, but enhance our well-being in a thoughtfully collected way.
We approach every project with a fresh perspective, designing timeless, artful spaces that reflect each client’s unique story. By reimagining traditional details for modern living, we find beauty in simplicity and embrace patina as a mark of creativity and character.
It’s important to us to create healthier homes by selecting safe, non-toxic, and organic materials. We prioritize natural elements to enhance physical and mental well-being while incorporating family heirlooms and vintage pieces to add character and celebrate sustainability.
We believe in investing in fewer, higher-quality pieces that stand the test of time. By supporting small brands, local makers, and artisans, we celebrate the beauty of the craft and the care that goes into creating something truly lasting.
After earning a degree in marketing and art history, I spent nearly a decade working for interior design firms in both Martha’s Vineyard and Boston, focusing on residential design and project management. LHD was born in 2018 after my husband, Eric, and I started our family and renovated our first home together.
We currently live in North Andover, Massachusetts, with our two young children and run both LHD and Eric’s home remodeling company, Hanson Renovations.
We believe a well designed home is more than a beautiful space. It should tell your story, reflect your values, and enhance the way you live. Inspired by the charm of historic New England homes and the beauty of natural materials, we create spaces that feel timeless, inviting, and crafted to last. Our approach prioritizes quality, sustainability, and thoughtful details, blending heirloom pieces with modern touches to create homes that are as functional as they are beautiful. We also believe in giving back to the places that inspire us, which is why we donate 1% of our profits to The Trustees of Massachusetts, an organization dedicated to protecting the state’s scenic, historic, and ecological treasures.
