At LHD, we believe the most beautiful homes are warm, relaxed, and rooted in history. Our approach blends old, new, and handmade pieces to create interiors that not only feel soulful and unique, but also function with a sense of ease.
We approach every project with a fresh perspective, designing timeless, artful spaces that reflect each client’s unique story. By reimagining traditional details for modern living, we find beauty in simplicity and embrace patina as a mark of creativity and character.
It’s important to us to create healthier homes by selecting safe, non-toxic, and organic materials. We prioritize natural elements to enhance physical and mental well-being while incorporating family heirlooms and vintage pieces to add character and celebrate sustainability.
We believe in investing in fewer, higher-quality pieces that stand the test of time. By supporting small brands, local makers, and artisans, we celebrate the beauty of the craft and the care that goes into creating something truly lasting.
A New England girl for life, I earned a degree in marketing and art history before spending nearly a decade at residential interior design firms in both Martha’s Vineyard and Boston. Alongside, I helped run my family's second generation small business and I prioritize supporting smaller companies and individual makers through our work at LHD today.
LHD was born in 2018 after my husband, Eric, and I started our family and renovated our first home together. In 2022 we designed and built a small studio on our property in North Andover, where we operate both LHD and Eric's home remodeling company, Hanson Renovations. When we're not working with clients, we're outdoors somewhere with our two young children, who inspire us everyday.
We believe a well designed home should tell your story, reflect your values, and enhance the way your family lives. Inspired by the charm of British design and the beauty of natural materials, we create spaces that feel timeless, inviting, and crafted to last. Our approach prioritizes quality, sustainability, and thoughtful details, blending heirloom pieces with modern touches to create family homes that are as functional as they are beautiful. We also believe in giving back to the places that inspire us, which is why we donate 1% of our profits to The Trustees of Massachusetts, an organization dedicated to protecting the state’s scenic, historic, and ecological treasures.
